- Avril Mahon

the problem
Avril first approached me to develop a website with content management for her women only running events under her brand Women Run Strong. Avril already had a word mark and colour way that were gaining recognition, but this nascent brand didn’t exist in a format that she could use for merchandise, or the website and some professional polish was required.
the solution
As part of the initial website build I produced a range of possible enhancements to this existing brand. Each proposal increased differentiation in typography, and built on Avril’s signature pink and orange colour way, while remaining close to the established recognisable logo. Avril selected a preferred direction and as part of the website project I supplied final artwork, press and screen format files of the newly tidied up Women Run Strong logo.
Since then Avril’s used these files to order consistent, high quality branded apparel and marketing materials from a number of suppliers, returning to me for projects where she felt design finesse and/or technical knowhow were required. Some examples include: creating a branded buff design that ensured her branding remained legible, however the garment fell; promotional print work; or handling technical queries relating to the website’s content management system and hosting.
